Return Packaging Standards

Modified on Sat, 28 Feb at 3:37 AM

Solar panels and large electrical items are fragile and must be packaged correctly when being returned.

Improper packaging may result in transit damage. If a returned item arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging, this may affect eligibility for refund or warranty assessment.

This guide outlines the required packaging standards for safe return.

? Do NOT Return Items Without Authorisation

Before sending any product back, you must first obtain a:

Return Authorisation (RA) number

Returns sent without authorisation may be refused or delayed.

? Solar Panel Return Packaging Requirements

Solar panels must be packed using:

  • Original manufacturer carton (preferred), OR

  • Double-wall heavy-duty cardboard carton

  • Foam corner protection or rigid edge guards

  • Internal cushioning to prevent movement

  • Bubble wrap around the entire panel surface

  • “FRAGILE” labels clearly visible on the outer carton

Panels must not move inside the carton.

If the original packaging is unavailable, you must use packaging of equal or greater protection.

? Lithium Batteries & Inverters

Must be packed with:

  • Original foam inserts (if available)

  • Secure internal padding

  • Terminals protected

  • No loose movement inside carton

Lithium batteries must not be shipped loosely or without protection.

❌ Packaging That Is Not Acceptable

The following are not acceptable and may result in return damage:

  • Thin single-layer cardboard

  • No internal padding

  • Items wrapped only in plastic

  • No corner protection

  • Damaged or weakened cartons

  • Strapping tape only with no box

? Photo Requirement Before Dispatch

Before lodging your return shipment, you must email:

  • Clear photos of packaging (all sides)

  • Internal padding visible

  • RA number written clearly on carton

Send to:
returns@starpoweradvancesolartechnology.com (or as directed in your RA confirmation)

This protects both you and us from transit disputes.

? Carrier Requirements

  • Do not use satchel or soft packaging

  • Use tracked courier service

  • Signature on delivery recommended

  • Do not mark goods as “Authority to Leave”

Large panels should be sent via reputable courier only.

⚠ Transit Damage Disclaimer

If a returned item is damaged due to insufficient packaging:

  • Refund may be reduced to reflect damage

  • Claim may be rejected if damage prevents resale or assessment

  • Customer may be liable for return freight re-dispatch

This ensures fairness and prevents avoidable damage costs.

Why Proper Packaging Matters

Solar panels are glass-fronted electrical products. Even minor flexing can cause:

  • Micro-cracks

  • Frame warping

  • Internal cell damage

  • Reduced performance

Proper packaging protects your refund eligibility.
